A 19th century schoolhouse in Milford, PA, was reorganized and renovated for New York City photographers. A voluminous wall bisects the structure defining domestic spaces while containing storage, the master toilet room, the attic stair, room passages and a guest room desk. This storage wall is pierced by a layout table running the full width of the house. The Master Suite retains the building length, leaving the shower open to the suite. The stairwell extends to the skylight punctured roof bringing natural light into the first, second and attic levels. Light bounces off carefully selected walls of color, and around the predominantly white spaces. And light from the stair hall windows filters through a custom designed aluminum screen.
